Enroll A Child

Your child will receive 1-on-1 care from a mentor that’s been intentionally selected and paired with him or her. Mentors and kids will participate together in "activity blocks" that are designed to help with whole child development. At our facility, we provide a learning environment and structure that is unique through connection with a trained mentor and by incorporating movement into learning. Each activity block serves a specific purpose in helping with your child's development. At the beginning of the year, our child development specialists will perform a few assessments with your child to determine where their areas of need are in order to build an individualized learning guide for your child's mentor to follow. Why are you enrolling your child in afterschool mentoring? What areas of growth would you like to see in him or her?

Uplift Mentoring is a nonprofit organization founded on the principles of God’s love. In conjunction with this and in an effort to share that love with others, part of the programming consists of a brief gospel lesson which consists of a short video lesson and a few minutes of discussion.

Our afterschool mentoring program takes place at Uplift Mentoring (located at 126 S. Center St.). Students from Horace Mann and Sequoyah Elementary will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45. Students from Shawnee Middle School will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30. Students from Will Rogers and Jefferson Elementary will meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45. We will provide transportation from your child's school to Uplift Mentoring. If needed, we will also provide transportation from Uplift Mentoring to your home. Do you need us to provide transportation for your child to get back home at the end of the program? ****ALL SHAWNEE PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE A PART OF THE AFTERSCHOOL 21ST CENTURY LEARNING PROGRAM WILL BE DROPPED OFF AT THEIR SCHOOL SITES BY 5PM TO TAKE NORMAL TRANSPORTATION HOME.
